Welcome to Grade 7!

Mike and I have had such a great week with your children!  We have shared laughter, team building, stories, and initial classroom procedures and expectations.  Despite the high heat, your children have been amazing with their focus and engagement.
Sometimes it’s challenging for your children to share what’s happened at school; we want to be mindful of this and offer you some prompting questions to encourage discussions with them.  Here are a few ideas to try:
1. What are you going to explore/research in the My Scientific Summer Project?
2. What was a special childhood place Mrs. Medenica talked about this week?  What special childhood place are you going to sketch?
3. What type of team building did you do this week?  What was your favorite?
4. What things did you learn about Mr. Hagerty this week?  Mrs. Medenica?
5. Are there new students in your class?  What are their names?
6. How high did you build your Marshmallow Tower? What was your groups strategy?
7. What are some key themes you learned from the Fish film?
Please continue to talk to your children about school and their learning this year.  We are a team working toward a safe, happy and successful year.
Yours in Education,
Janice and Mike
