Ascophyllum nodosum studies at Madeline Point

Students went to Madeline Point to collect Ascophyllum data. A bit chilly this day, but the students learned all about how to tell if rock weed is at its reproductive age or not through the guidance of the Signs of the Seasons program from the University of Southern Maine. They learned how to measure the yearly growth, and also how to calculate the age of it. They did a fabulous job!
